DE10-1109 in Hokutsei Livery

DE10-1109, recently transferred to the Tobu Railway from Morioka, has been outshopped in a "Hokutsei" style livery like the recently scrapped or sold off JR Hokkaido DD51...

in the past there was also such a paint job on DD16-20 in the 90s. Later they got a white ribbon. It is interesting that the Hokutosei painting is used on many different diesel locomotives.

In the USA, heritage units are somewhat common.  I didn't realize that this happened in Japan as well.  Nice to know.  Not that one needs a prototype justification for using something like this on a layout but it is good to see that it happens anyway.
