marknewton
Someone at Tramway obviously likes diesel railcars. https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/search?typ1_c=117&cat=train&state=1&sold=0&sortid=0&target=&searchkey=Tramway+Series+KIHA58 Cheers, Mark. 1 Link to comment
Kamome
Interesting choice as there are already good offerings from Endo and Kato. Shame there’s no KiYu 25 added as ¥90,000 for the Endo version is a bit much for me. Do you know if the Panoramic window is different to the Kato model? I really want to get a single car Kiha 40 from Tramway at some point. Link to comment
Kiha66
I believe the panoramic window has the curved glass, while the kato version is the older flat windows. (Not including the Kiha 65, which afaik all got the curved glass windows due to their later build date). Panorama window https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/7f/Kiha_58_Wakatori_Liner_19880729.jpg Flat window https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/b/ba/JNR_58_series_DMU_original_colors.jpg/1280px-JNR_58_series_DMU_original_colors.jpg I hope they do the flat window version as well, I'm very tempted by all these HO models tramway is doing. I really wish I got the C59 before it went out of stock everywhere! Edited January 31, 2020 by Kiha66 Link to comment
keiichi77
I was thinking on ordering two Tramway/Popopro Kiha40s, a JR East and a JR Hokkaido. Does the Tramway model have interiors? It is very hard to tell from the few pictures Hobbysearch posted. Link to comment
Kamome
From what I’ve seen, the Tramway don’t have interiors and have the motor and drive shafts running through the middle of the cabin. The Kato Kiha offerings are very tidy with motor units under the floor to allow for modelled interior. Tramway aren’t quite there yet in that regard, but the externals look very good. Link to comment
