Realistic, inexpensive cherry blossom trees?

Perhaps I am asking for the impossible, but I want/need about a dozen N scale Cherry Blossom trees for my t-trak module. I looked online and found some but they appear to be either too large (3-3.5" tall) or require assembly or are just unrealistic. What do you all use?

Thanks, and Merry Christmas!

I’ve had a supply of the old kawai which were a very good bang for the buck. Very similar to the popopro linked above (sadly that supply is running thin), but a third the price.

ebay trees can be a crap shoot. It’s like that food package where the picture on the front looks sooo much better than the contents, but usually tastes ok... same goes for a lot of ebay trees that look decent in the pictures. Usually they are not as nice but with a little fiddling, pruning and sometimes a dust of more ground foam and hairspray they can look pretty good. Unfortunately the cheap chinese ebay ones are all HO scale so way too big.

with trees inexpensive and realistic for purchased trees don’t usually go together. To get them just right is usually either spending a lot or making your own, or settling a little and fixing up cheaper trees some. The great thing about making your own is you can get different sized trees as most manufactured trees are all at about the same size and that can start to get very uniform and unrealistic. Might give a shot at making your own, really isn’t hard to do, biggest thing is getting your foliage mix for cherry blossoms of pink or white with a touch or red. Stranded wire or natural stems for your armatures and mix up your own ground foam blend. Noch makes some nice accent ground foams as well as bright wood chip that would work well for cherry blossoms. Great thing about making your own is they are very cheap and fast to do and experiment until you get the look you want.

We'll be going the wire armature route.  Modelling mid-November for fall foliage, and that means bare cherry trees at Lake Senba.

Wire works really well. Plain old cheap 18g stranded lamp cord is great, it works out to like 7-8” diameter at 1/150. So good for smaller trees. Lots of strands to pull apart for limbs. You can stiffen limbs and joints with some solder application where needed once shaped. Thick cheap craft paint does great to fill in the wires to make bark. Black or dark gray base coat and dry brush your bark color.

cheers
