Japan’s Railway Technical Research Institute (RTRI) is studying how to mitigate the effects of aerodynamic phenomena on high-speed trains and infrastructure. Kiyoshi Nagakura, RTRI’s director and head of the Environmental Engineering Division, outlines the progress made so far.
