Removing factory paint from Bandai B Train Shorty models.

Hello All, I am trying to remove the factory paint from some Bandai B Train Shorty kits. My usual metjod of caustic soda in water solution is not working well. I think I saw on a Japanese B Train kit bashing site Isopropyl Alcohol being used. Any opinions? Cheers Andrew G

Andrew it’s worth a try, I’ve stripped the paint off Kato containers with isopropanol. It took some repeated soakings and gentle scrubbing. In the end I had to use the ultrasonic cleaner to get the paint bits in the deep cracks to pop out, wish I had thought of using the ultrasonic bath earlier!

Some use car brake fluid to strip model paint, but I have not tried it. Oven cleaner as well, but that’s basically sodium hydroxide/caustic soda.
