Martijn Meerts
Ooooh, that one is definitely really nice. I'm doing quite well not buying new (N-scale) rolling stock, but if that comes out as a model, I might just have to pick it up. 1 Link to comment

Even a lot of my Euro trains are special livery and my small number of US Prototypes are 50% (I only have a few US prototypes that "fit" into what we see locally of UP freight). This 223 is really nice looking. And though I don't limit myself to a certain regional area for Japan, I tend to favor JR West areas since that is where we base ourselves when we are in Japan... Double fit! Thanks for posting @bill937ca Edited March 14, 2021 by chadbag 1 Link to comment

One of the nicest special liveries I have seen in a while. 1 Link to comment

AhmadKane
I dont know if this is alright or not to post the image in such a way. I recently procured a Yamaguchi-Go C57-1 Lady from the auctions. It described "金指魔改造" which translates to Finger Demon Gold. Is this a livery or modification? I have never read a C57 being described as such. I reallu think its a neat model nevertheless, might try to have the yellow bits gold plated Appreciate any info pertaining to this livery/variation Link to comment
roadstar_na6
Seems to be a weirdly modified 2007-1. No ketchup, just sauce! Link to comment

bill937ca
From July 4, 2021, a wrapping train with the theme of "demon" has appeared. "Kihoku Town", the only local public organization in Japan that has the characters "Oni" JR Shikoku and Kihoku Town have started the operation of "Oni" wrapping trains for the purpose of promoting the appeal of the Nanyo region and promoting the use of railways. rice field. Arctic
I didn't see this mentioned here. Since around late 2019 a 113 series in the Kyoto area has been rewrapped into SHINOBI TRAIN: https://raillab.jp/photo/54113 https://raillab.jp/photo/95646 I found this article about it (although I think the special train was unrelated to the livery) : https://railf.jp/news/2019/11/11/164000.html Seems ninja themed? 2 Link to comment
disturbman
Shinobi and ninja are interchangeable terms. It’s a nice livery. I could see Greenmax doing it in the next few years. They have been producing JR West painted 115. 1 Link to comment

Arctic
For the last year they have been holding anniversary events at Kushiro depot to celebrate the anniversaries of 4 different JR Hokkaido lines. They repainted 2 Kiha 40-1700 (Kiha 40-1759 and Kiha 40-1766) in a JNR livery that was used on Kiha 22's operating in the area. Some details: https://www.jrhokkaido.co.jp/travel/kushiro_aniv/train.html These generally seem to operate on the Shintoku-Kushiro section of the Nemuro main line outside of the special event dates with a timetable available as well: https://www.jrhokkaido.co.jp/travel/kushiro_aniv/train.html There are some pictures of the units here: https://raillab.jp/car/68727/photos/list?photo_type=all&sort=shooting_new&info_type=max https://raillab.jp/car/68672/photos/list?photo_type=all&sort=shooting_new&info_type=max And also a video on youtube: I guess there is a good chance that Tomix will produce these at some point. Would go nice with many of the JR Hokkaido Kiha 40's they have already produced (especially the vermillion coloured ones). 2 Link to comment
