Hey i have that set! I'm glad it's still prototypical to park it at the yard!

Wonder if it comes with inerchangable washing pads and vacuum blades ~

So you bought a junk E231-0 series in very battered Chuo-Sobu line colours and were wondering how to fix it?

No need to bother.

That is certainly in a really bad condition... On another end, there were news of the E231-500 retiring from the Chuo line, yes? I thought i read it somewhere, but it's strange if the 500 sub series retires before the 0 sub series...

I haven't heard anything, and the E231-500s were displaced from the Yamanote Line relatively recently, so I'd imagine it'll be few more years before they need replacing.

It's just vinyl flaking off as the UV exposure damages the sticker.

A complete removal of the vinyl and adhesive, some good Trissol do degrease the surface, and a new vinyl can be applied.

It's a stainless steel coach. If properly maintained and engineered, they can last a century or more.

If anyone is going to or has preordered the Nishi-Kyushu shinkansen, be sure to model some matching cleaning carts.

Also noticed that car 3 is the worst offending “How many times can I put Kamome on a train” carriage. BC2DD5A6-D196-4F77-8B0D-FE6BFA32F308.thumb.jpeg.52e945a7a2e345aa6825e13b5a67d7e9.jpeg

Certainly not many passengers getting on and off.

The regular JR station also only had short YC1 units as well as seeing the 2 stars leaving. I assume now there is no other express service from Hakata to Nagasaki other than the relay service to Takeo-Onsen and then getting the shinkansen from there.

When is a crossover not a crossover?  When the Minato line removes the old connecting points on their track that hasn't been used in decades, but the Joban Line still has their side in place.

Historically, this crossover has only been used for transferring equipment (from steam to Kihas) sold to/from the Minato Line.  It remains as an operational part of our layout plan:
