anyone have the sagami ed11 + ed12 set?

been considering getting it on the re-release this sept.

1. does it run good?

2. Is it a flywheel?

3. Do they have good pulling power?

4. Easy to install knuckle couplers?

Received my catalog today. So much for the theory that it'll be thick. Just like the cover implies, this version only covers models released between 09-12. Pretty smart on their part. I guess I'll be hanging on to my old catalogs.

Oh yes and my catalog is all 'wavy'...  :cheesy

Received my new MA catalog today D004, 2009-2012.

I'm pleased to report that mine is not wavey at all.  It is absolutely perfect.

BTW, what does the sentence at the bottom of the front cover starting with, "2008 ... " say?

Cheers

I don't have any trouble resisting the MA 100 series.  One Tomix 92755, and the Kato 10-354/5/6 really are enough for me.  Like Martijn, I'm spending less this year.

no worries just letting everyone know, though i find this one particularily good as it's the original. As old skewl as the 100 series can get.

a quick snippet from wiki that pretty much sums it up

Pre-production unit

Originally numbered X0, the pre-production set X1 was delivered in 1985, with test running commencing from 27 March that year.[2] It entered revenue service for passenger evaluation trials on Hikari services from 1 October 1985.[2] This unit differed externally from later production units in having small windows aligned with each seating bay, and also had a slanting headlight arrangement. The type 116 Green (first class) car formed as car 10 initially included one two-seat and two single-seat compartments, but these were removed when the set was modified to full-production standard in 1986.[2]

Set X1 was withdrawn in March 2000.

what they don't mention and i didn't list in car numbers up above i the 116-9001 and several other variations which make it different to the x1.

quick vid of 0 and 100 -9000 (X0)

The MA 485 Irodori train is now available, from the photos shown on HS it does look really good and I am very happy that I have this on order and will be paying for this set soon so it will be in my Hands in the 2nd week of August in time for Australian Model Rail Association Caulfield Exhibition.

I'm not really interested in the shape of the train, but I do like the colors. On this one it fits much better IMO (color scheme is slightly different though): http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10145006

Sorry you will just need to learn some style there for some cool trains densha... ;-P

Actually, it might be a double alert. Microace will also be releasing one set with two JR Shikoku kiha 185 units, one in the "ai" livery and the other one in the "I love shimanto" livery.

This month announcement is full of JR Shikoku rolling stock with some Kiha 185 sets and the long awaited rerelease of some Series 2000 sets (plus a Kiha45 set in JR Shikoku livery).

looks like MA are competing with Green max.

Green max must be hurting from Ma better pricing and better motor.

Wish this was Tomix and their all-wheel pickups.  I have not owned a MicroAce shinkansen, can anyone comment on their quality?

They've also just announced the Series 485 "Zipang"
