Hello my 00 layout goes tomorrow. All the stock, controllers and most of the track goes to a new home tomorrow.

I am going Kato track and sticking to DC with this layout. It's going to be strange going back to analogue.

Hello Markn, could you post some pictures of your departing layout ?
Also, do you have already any plans for your new japanese layout ?

Having done HO with blocks before I can honestly say that the switch to Kato track and DC makes me feel like I'm using DCC. And most of the operations that are typically done on Japanese railways don't really call for DCC. For yard work it would be nice but you can almost approximate it with how the turnouts work and cleverly designed yards.

I've had the same experience of nah, blocks are great but lots of wiring and control panels and power routing is pretty spiffy, easy and gets the job done. I love tech and made most of my career on it, but if something works well w.o it I'm fine with that as tech can (well almost always is at some point) be a headache. Nice when something simple works well.
