Of course, in the run up to Christmas you have other worries. But since I have to wait for my additional module part I am currently busy with the finish of the Tomytec cars. I have here on a Honda Today retrofitted the rearview mirror with etched parts. A bit of silver and black makes the car even more attractive. I'll be able to hand over a few vehicles by Christmas.

I still had a few etching plates left from my TT-Gauge. There I had used the smallest mirrors of the etching plate for trucks. The manufacturer "TT-more" from Germany unfortunately stopped production in 2012. I have found a good replacement in the last few days (https://www.fks-modellbau.de/de/ unfortunately only in German) I ordered a few things yesterday and will try them out until Christmas.

After my girl friend has criticized the space requirement for the planned railroad and their arguments were unbeatable, I got to my delight a new place in the living room. Unfortunately, I had to revise the plan again. This planning is now finalized with my girlfriend (I hope at least). Of course I can not park long trains at the Fiddle Yard anymore, but it is still enough for 6 to 9 wagon trains. Next month, I'll get the two missing modules for the front visible part.

I really, really like the 3 track layout and train station. Just out of curiosity, what kind of trains do you plan to run on your layout?

I want to let there drive trains of the JNR and JR Hokkaido. My collection is still a little too small, but I already own some of the vehicles I would like to use there. For example (JNR):

ED76-500 + 4 cars series 50 (2 trains)
EMU series 781
EMU series 711
DD51-500 + Freight Train
ED76-500 + Freight Train

For special purposes, video recordings, my blue trains and special trains should also be able to drive on it, only that these can not be parked in the fiddle yard.

Now a few months have passed and already in January I had some doubts about the last plan. After several conversations with friends about my problems, I rejected the last plan, as it will become apparent that I will not get a new room in the next few years (family planning ...). And a move is also still in the coming year ...

So I decided to revisit the old theme "Eastern Nemuro Line", redesigned the old plans to my new conceptions and printed them out on a scale of 1: 1 to get a size imagination. With the idea to build the system only on selected days or for exhibitions, I was able to use a track plan from the station "Ombetsu". This is small enough, offers some shunting and overhauls, and some space for ideas.

 

The structure of the segments includes 2 main segments with the dimensions 1200mm x 400mm and at each end one module 300mm x 400mm. For the later course of the track smaler 300mm wide track modules are planned. As a track material I will use the Peco code 55. But I will limit myself to the suburb situation, because a complete replica is impossible for me because of lack of knowledge.

I hope now that this is the last time a plan is rejected because it is frustrating...

Nice lighthouse! Mirrors are quite nice. 

 

I think i May have asked before, forgive me if did, but where did you get the mirrors?

A few days ago my first Code 55 turnouts (PECO) arrived. The look is in my opinion very exemplary and I miss the very large radius of 914mm very well. What I do not like so much is the extremely large gap in the frog ... The wheels fall literally into it. Also I have read in the WWW several posts of conversions of this switch, which improves the reliability of the power supply. Now I have to order several meters of flex tracks and the remaining switches ....

Long time ago I posted something! Today I could use the day off. The first two modules are already repainted in black. Do not be scared, the plate will be painted later in gray, because I want to use the black as a cover layer. The previous woodwork (wooden spatula, screws and holes) shimmer through too much. The new Duck-Under module is on its way to me. Although it is not much to report, but at least something!

Now I use the three modules for  the fiddle yard of our IG Nippon - Arragement. In addition, this is also later compitable with my small station 🙂

Today I was finally able to assemble the last module. The final dimensions of the fiddle yard are 3,60m x 0,40m and offer 10 storage possibilities. Unfortunately, our IG-Nippon standard only specifies the Tomix track, but I work with code 80 from Peco. Now I'm still waiting for my first delivery ....

This morning I could finally use for the first module. The cork is also for the correct height of the Peco Code 80 - track and for a bit of noise reduction. At one end, I use Tomix S70 tracks for our module standardization

Many Thanks! I think there should be enough space for short and long trains. There are also sections set up to park shorter trains. The maximum is a freight train with 18x Koki and 1x EH500 at an exhibition. Privately, I can use 18x Koki + 1x DF200 or 17x Koki + 2x DD51 😂

The installation was completed today for the first 4 switches. For the visibility of the levers the heads were painted.

After the first rehearsal my assumption of the last train length was almost correct. A train with 16 KoKi's and one EF81 are too short, but probably can be parked on the neighboring track. I think, 20 KoKi´s and 1 EF81 is the maximum.
