The greenmax is about the biggest I've seen

If you are thinking one of the long ones over moats or larger waterways probably have to scratch build. Hardest part there is the railing on a vertical curve... Don't think any of the tgw railing are ornate like most foot bridges are.

Cheers

If you do need a longer bridge, you could combine multiple Greenmax bridges and bash taller piers in the middle.

Likely a whole lot less work than scratching the whole bridge.

I was hoping for something older like this. May have to scratch build.

Think this is Chinese, but you get the idea.

You mentioned a footbridge, not a covered bridge.

I'd suggest looking for something similar marketed as a Chinese historical item made for tourists - you might get lucky on the scale.

hmm not seen any like that in japan now, im sure at one point there were ones like that. if you look at google image search "traditional Japanese footbridge" you will see the greenmax is the basic design you will see all over japan still. you can see these from short to very long. its something that screams japan actually.

looking quick looks like some of the really old were more of a traditional suspension footbridge

Huffington Post:  accuracy in journalism  .  .  .  .

Built by Bandits - The Iya Valley in Japan has long been remote and difficult to access, making it a famous retreat for refugees and bandits. Hundreds of years ago, these brave residents took vines from nearby wisteria plants, grew them across the river and wove them together. They may look quaint, but you’ll change your mind about that when you are standing on one, and look down through the cracks of the bridge to the river hundreds of feet below.

Really?  Why am I seeing water no more than ten feet below the bridge.

Oh Oh ! I didn't know we were not supposed to drive across those bridges.  So far it has not fallen down.  :confused1:

For those scratch building, here is a diorama with a classic bridge design in model that can be made for any means of land transport really: http://ezu.yh-aa.com/02_04.shtml

WOW! That's so impressive! And it appears to be HO scale, too!

Thanks heaps for posting that website, Toni.
