Designing a coffee table to run the N Z T trains. Need a place thats cat proof.

 

Planning to use an unused ntrak module base 36x72" to slide into a box. One end of the box will open with magnets.

 

Top loop is a simple Kato double track for running and speed matching DCC.

 

Second loop is Z running around near and below the N.

 

Third is a T-Gauge pretzel giving a sense of depth.

 

Would you recommend an 18" deep box or 20" to accomplish this feat? I plan to use a lot of scenery to hide the other tracks when one train is operating.
