  1. This came up in my Google News, it’s a website operated by JR East’s Singapore office. It’s not specifically for rail fans, but it is rail-centric travel information in English, I thought some might it useful. https://japanrailtimes.japanrailcafe.com.sg/
  2. After having spent a few months in Sri Lanka and India travelling on around 100 hours of trains, my wife and I were starting to think that we were getting bored of trains... 😲 We just finished a month in China and wow this is something else. We took a 14 hour bullet train from Shanghai to Chengdu and it was so comfortable that the time flew by! Even the "Slow" trains are pretty comfortable, clean, air-conditioned and very cheap. I think China is really an exciting place to explore train travel! Can't wait to see if the mag-lev will actually get built! I want to get on that as soon as it's ready! Do we think they will actually build it? Or is it just showing off?
  3. Hello all, My wife and I are planning on visiting Kyushu for the first time during our next trip to Japan in May / June. It is the only main island of Japan that we both have not been too. She has on her list of places to see Kagoshima, Yufuin, Kumamoto, Nagasaki, and Hakata. We know we want to take the Yufuin No Mori line to get to Yufuin so I have been familiarizing myself with that. Do any of you have any suggestions for other attractions and train rides in Kyushu. She is a native Japanese speaker so language is no barrier for us. Her main interest is food, and mine of course is trains ! Thanks
  4. Going to Sapporo in September and am trying to determine the best shots to watch trains outside of Sapporo Station of course. Anyone in the group been there? I'm gun I g for as much ground level and at-grades as I can since I don't use zooms anymore to take pix.
